Think Again

Poetry On A Roll

Take your hand off that ledge
before the rust of the metal disintegrates into your hand,
leaving you without any options
except the one you chose.
Maybe you can change your mind
before it leaves you high and dry.

You think hanging out on a tall bridge
trying to earn your wings before you fly
gives you the courage to follow through
but it does not,
you are shivering, shaking
like its freezing outside
but it’s smack in the middle of summer.

Think again before you let go
because you are not ready.
